The Back Story
 Dr. Linda Cushing and Dr. Cheslyn Gan met in Optometry School at the University of California, Berkeley in 1985. After earning their doctorates in 1989, each spent time in large clinical and private practices, working predictable hours with large staffs, full patient loads, productivity guidelines, schedules, and quotas.
Each soon realized that a life of processed eye care was not for them. They longed to open a private practice emphasizing personal care and the ability to take all the time necessary to give the best possible care, and each wanted to offer their patients the tools necessary to become a full partner in their optometric health.
This shared desire to provide the type of care they believe best represents the field of optometry led to the opening of Cushing & Gan Optometry in Walnut Creek in 1996. The response was so satisfying that they decided to open a second office in Pleasanton so they could offer their style of care to patients up and down the 680 corridor. |
